Whether you’re a seasoned camper or a novice, a camping equipment checklist is essential for a successful experience. In fact, making sure you have everything you need before setting off on your camping trip will enable you to make the most of your stay without being caught unprepared. Camping essentials in terms of shelter and sleeping equipment include tents, sleeping bags and air mattresses. We’re sharing our recommendations and must-haves with you!
Tent
Nature Hike Cloud-Up 2
4-season tent – 2 places – 1.65 kg
A brand that deserves to be known! NatureHike’s Cloud-Up 2 is clearly the best value for money on the market.
Many similarities with MSR’s in terms of construction: single carbon mast, ultra-light nylon canvas.
Half the price of MSR for a very good service! The 2-seater weighs just 1.65kg. We chose the 3-seater version, which is more spacious and 600 grams heavier!
Ultra-practical accessories
Car charger
Few 4x4s are equipped with a power socket – essential for charging your camera, for example! This super-practical cup-shaped converter fits into a car’s cup holder and offers a mains socket.
It also has 2 USB sockets, always useful on the front 😀
Multi-ended USB charger
We travel “off-piste” and very often in groups: this means lots of electronic devices to charge. This roll-up USB, with its Apple/USB-C/MicroUsb connectors, allows you to charge any device without worrying about the type of device 🙂 It’s not much, but it’s still super handy to have this charger plugged into the front of a 4×4. It’s also retractable.
External solar battery
Here’s a solar battery (24000Mah) that can be recharged either via the USB port (faster) or by the sun (more environmentally-friendly!). Often lost in regions with no access to electricity, this solar-charged battery comes in very handy. It can charge 3 devices at a time.
GRDE Headlamp
A headlamp is one of the essentials on our OunTravela trips! This ultra-powerful GRDE headlamp provides long-range illumination (initially for caving). It contains a battery that can be recharged via USB or the cigarette lighter.
Kitchen set
This kitchen stove contains everything you need for 4 people in a very small space. Yes, all that’s missing is the cutlery. There are plates, glasses, bowls, pots and pans with lids/accessories and even the bag that holds them, which doubles as a basin!
JetBoil system
Superbly designed and optimized for field trips! This JetBoil heating system brings water to the boil in 2 minutes, whatever the weather conditions (cold or windy). A little pricey, but if you often go bivouacking, it’s well worth it!
