Happy reading!

The medical kit that we present to you has been prepared with the advice of the hospital of Toulouse, France. Of course, this kit is to be prescribed by a doctor and to be adapted according to your personal needs. In addition, some destinations require more specific treatments (anti-malaria treatment, treatment against altitude sickness, etc.) and special vaccinations. In this case, we recommend that you consult a specialised centre if you have the possibility to do so. Also, if you are travelling with children, certain medicines may be contraindicated. Keep medicines away from light and heat and take a copy of the prescription with you.

What should I do if I have diarrhea?

The important thing is to avoid dehydration. As soon as diarrhea appears, and without waiting until you are thirsty, drink more: water or light tea. You can also use Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS), especially for children.  If you do not have ORS, mix 6 level teaspoons of sugar and 1 level teaspoon of salt in one litre of drinking water. Be careful not to take too much sugar can aggravate the diarrhoea. Continue to eat normally.

If the diarrhea lasts more than 3 days and/or if the stools are very frequent or contain blood and mucus, and in case of repeated vomiting or fever (T>38°C) consult a doctor.

  • Washing your hands is the most important preventive gesture (before meals, after going to the toilet, and as often as possible).
  • Drink bottled, filtered or purified water. Avoid ice cubes.
  • Limit raw foods, unless they are fruits or vegetables that you have peeled yourself, or if they have been washed.
  • Foods containing raw eggs (homemade mayonnaise, mousses, creams) may be at risk.
  • Homemade ice cream is very risky.

  • Body repellents preferably based on icaridine or DEET 50%.
  • Permethrin-based garment repellents 6% spray, 8% soaking
