The border crossing between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan (in both directions) is open to all travelers. Be sure to check that you have your GBAO permit to visit the Tajik Pamir, available here.

Since 2024, a special permit has been required to cross the Kyzyl-Art border crossing between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, regardless of the direction of travel. Fill out the form below to be added to the list of people authorized to cross the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan!

✅ This permit is valid for a single crossing (from Kyrgyzstan ➡️ Tajikistan or from Tajikistan ➡️ Kyrgyzstan) or a round trip.

✅ Processing time: 4 business days. *Excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays

✅ Email confirmation of authorization. You will not receive a physical or digital document, but rather an email confirming that your name is on the list for crossing the border.

✅ Price: €17 per person for a one-way trip or €30 per person for a round trip.
