Apply for Vashlovani National Park permit
April 2024 update
Located in the south-eastern corner of Georgia, Vashlovani National Park holds some of the most stunning scenery in Georgia: from dried-up canyons, arid steppes to tall grasses, the park looks like the African savannah! It has a semi-arid climate and is home to more than a hundred species of birds and mammals such as gazelles, lynxes, bears, etc.
What permits do I need to visit Vashlovani Park?
To visit Vashlovani National Park, two types of permit are required:
- A border permit (free of charge), which allows access to the border area along Azerbaijan.
- The park entry authorisation (chargeable), which allows you to enter the Vashlovani National Park and Chachuna Managed Reserve.
It might be necessary to apply for both permits if you wish to visit all the park, including the routes in our “Explore Georgia” travel guide.
How do I obtain these authorisations?
- We recommand to to apply for the permits directly in Dedosplitskaro: you will be able to access the routes 6, 7, 8 and 9.
- Documents must be collected at the Vashlovani Visitor Center in Dedosplitskaro.
