The present document defines the general conditions applicable to the services offered by Rent2Explore SARL, a French company registered under SIRET number 935 131 383 00017, whose head office is located at 2 Avenue du Président Pierre Angot, 64000 Pau (France).

Rent2Explore is an intermediary specializing in :

  • connecting customers with adventure vehicle rental companies (4×4, vans, motorcycles, bicycles, etc.) or local guides,

  • management of contact forms to get in touch with professional service providers,

  • the sale of certain administrative documents (e.g. border permits).

👉 Rent2Explore is neither a travel agency, nor a rental agency, nor a carrier.


1. Scope of application

The present conditions apply to all users of the ountravela .com website when they :

  • fills in a contact form to be put in touch with a service provider (rental company or guide),

  • makes a reservation via Rent2Explore,

  • buys an administrative document (border permit, etc.).

By using these services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and accepted these conditions.


2. Rent2Explore’s role

  • Rent2Explore acts exclusively as an intermediary.

  • Final contracts (vehicle rental, guide services, tour organization, etc.) are concluded directly between the customer and the third-party service provider.

  • Rent2Explore is not responsible for the proper execution of services provided by service providers (rental companies, guides, agencies).


PART I – SERVICES (rental companies, guides, tours)


3. Reservations and payments

  • When booking, a pre-payment of 10% to 15% of the total amount may be required. On your bank statement, the payment will appear as Rent2Explore.

  • This prepayment is collected by Rent2Explore on behalf of the service provider.

  • At the end of the service, Rent2Explore retains a commission on this prepayment, with the remainder being paid back to the service provider.

  • This commission does not no additional cost for the customer the price paid via Rent2Explore is identical to the direct price. In many cases, the prices offered via Rent2Explore are even negotiated to be lower than direct prices.

  • The balance of the booking (85-90%) must be paid directly to the supplier in the agreed manner (cash, card, bank transfer, etc.).

👉 Invoicing: the final invoice for the service (rental or guide) is issued by the local service provider, not Rent2Explore.


4. Cancellations and refunds

  • Cancellation conditions vary from one provider to another.

  • In the event of cancellation within the specified period (usually 45 to 60 days before the start of the service), the prepayment is refunded in full to the customer.

  • After this period, all or part of the prepayment may be withheld, depending on the service provider’s specific terms and conditions.

  • Rent2Explore acts solely as the technical manager of the refund.


5. Responsibility (services)

  • Rent2Explore is not responsible for any accidents, damages, losses or disputes that may arise during the use of a service booked via the platform.

  • Responsibility lies exclusively with the service provider with whom the contract is concluded.

  • Rent2Explore cannot be held responsible in the event of force majeure, cancellation by the service provider or events beyond its control.


PART II – PERMITS AND ADMINISTRATIVE DOCUMENTS


6. Orders and payments (permits)

  • Payment for the permit must be made in full when the order is placed. On your bank statement, the payment will appear as Rent2Explore.

  • Once the payment has been validated, Rent2Explore forwards the request to the relevant service provider or authority.

  • 👉 No refunds are possible after payment validation, even in the event of trip cancellation.


7. Accuracy of data supplied

  • The customer is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information provided (passport, identity, visa, etc.).

  • If the data sent is incorrect or incomplete, the request will be rejected and the customer will have to place a new order, with full payment.

  • Rent2Explore and its partners never modify the data transmitted.

👉 If an error is detected after shipment, the customer must contact Rent2Explore immediately. If the procedure has already been launched, no changes or refunds are possible.


8. Deadlines and compensation

  • Rent2Explore makes every effort to meet its delivery deadlines.

  • Out of more than 500 permits issued in 2025, the on-time success rate is 98.5%.

  • In the event of delay, compensation may be granted only at the customer’s request:

    • +24 h delay25% refund of the permit price.

    • +72 h late → refund of 50% of the price of the permit.

  • No other compensation may be claimed, whatever the impact of the delay on the journey.


9. Billing (permits)

  • For the purchase of a permit or administrative document, the invoice is issued by the local service provider (and not by Rent2Explore).

  • Rent2Explore will only provide proof of prepayment if required.

11. Price transparency and distinction with OunTravela

  • The price paid via Rent2Explore is identical to that charged directly by the service providers.

  • Rent2Explore’s commission is an integral part of its business model, with no additional costs for the customer.

  • 👉 Important distinction:

    • Sales of guides and books are managed by OunTravela (Explore Media)CGV OunTravela.

    • Rent2Explore manages the connection and permit services, which are subject to the present GTC.


12. Applicable law and jurisdiction

  • These conditions are governed by French law.

  • Any dispute will be brought before the competent courts of Pau (France).
