If you encounter a problem during your road-trip with a Mitsubishi car, it’s easier to find a garage and spare parts. It is best to take this into account when choosing your vehicle! Although Georgian mechanics have a bad reputation, they’ll be able to help you with any small problem. Driving conditions in Georgia<\/h3>\n

The first rule of driving is speed control<\/strong>. It is important to be attentive and to respect speed limits. Road and track conditions can vary considerably from one region to another<\/strong>. What’s more, Georgian driving habits are not exemplary, and are even rather dangerous<\/strong>, as they don’t respect (or know?) the highway code. Be careful, too, as you’ll often come across stray animals on the roadside (horses, cows, pigs, etc.). Watch out for dogs, especially sheepdogs, which are territorial and can be aggressive.<\/p>\n

Compared with Central Asian countries, the police seem less corrupt. During our 4 months of exploration in 2021, we were only tested once for alcohol (negative!). Zero tolerance applies to drinking and driving<\/strong>. So be careful with your consumption.<\/p>\n

Rental car insurance<\/h3>\n

It’s not compulsory to insure your vehicle in Georgia<\/strong>, so most Georgians don’t have insurance, and will settle out of court in the event of an accident. Rental vehicles are normally all insured (please check)<\/strong>. The insurance covers part of the damage to the rental vehicle in the event of an incident. It also includes your civil liability, i.e. the damage you may cause to others in the event of an accident. In the event of an accident, and depending on the damage, you can call in the police to report the accident. A small \u201crepair\u201d budget is advisable<\/strong> because a flat tyre can happen even if you\u2019re careful.<\/p>\n

Road conditions in Georgia<\/h3>\n

The roads linking the main towns are asphalted and generally in good condition.<\/strong> You won’t have any problems between the main towns (Tblissi, Kouta\u00efssi, Batoumi, etc.) or on the Military Road linking Tbilisi to Vladikavkaz (Russia) through the Great Caucasus. On the other hand, you’ll need to be more careful on country roads, especially in the mountains<\/strong>. Every year, landslides and floods can damage mountain roads, which are almost always under construction! That’s why, even if you stay on the asphalt, drive carefully. You may encounter potholes, bumps or debris.<\/p>\n

When the road isn’t paved (often), it’s bumpy or dirt tracks that can be slippery with a little rain.<\/strong> To help you, we’ve classified the routes in the EXPLORE GEORGIA guidebook<\/a> by difficulty level from 1 to 5. We rented the Nissan Patrol Safari from Temo this summer and I can recommend him and his company 100%. The communication was fast and easy from the first moment and everything worked out perfectly. The car was in good shape und we had no problems with it. It managed all offroad routes without any problems and the rooftop tent was in very good shape.<\/span><\/p>\n

We are a family of four with two children aged 11. Renting from Temo a Nissan Xterra with a rooftop tent has been the perfect way for us to discover Georgia freely, from the remote mountains of Tusheti to the wild ‘savannah’ of Vashlovani. The car and the gear were 100% OK and I can say Temo has been very supportive, responsive and….nice! We have definitevely to come back and try the winter “way” to be on the road with one of his cars!<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div>

We were able to go on off-road journeys with confidence and get to our hikes with ease. For in-city driving Temo was so helpful with parking and advising us. We rented a Subaru Forester from Temo for 2 weeks to explore Tusheti national park and Juta area for hiking purposes. The car totally met our expectations.<\/p>\n

I’ve to say that Temo was of a great help to solve small problems we had unrelated to the car – we forgot some stuff in Tbilisi and Temo contributed to arrange a delivery inside the countryside so we didn’t have to get back to Tbilisi. Thanks Temo.<\/span><\/p>\n

The relation with Temo was trustworthy\/friendly. As a European, this is something we are not used to while renting a car.<\/p>\n

We had the pleasure of renting A suzuki Grand Vitara for about 4 weeks and absolutely loved it! We chose for the full camping equipment which was useful for our travel plans. I rented Temo\u2019s 4×4 Toyota Sequoia with full camping equipment for a road trip around Georgia and I\u2019d recommend it to anyone. The car was well-maintained and reliable, and handled nature parks like Vashlovani and mountainous areas like Svaneti and Kazbegi with ease. It\u2019s a large car so it uses more fuel, but fuel in Georgia is quite cheap, there are enough gas stations all throughout the country to fill up, and it has a big tank, so we never had to worry about running out.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also, the rooftop tent was really easy and quick to set up. For 10 days we wild camped at places with the most incredible views, I felt safe everywhere and the total freedom to stay anywhere and explore remote areas was truly amazing.<\/p>\n

Also, Temo is very friendly, and gave a lot of tips and advice about road conditions and finding camping spots. It was a very warm and personal experience as Temo checked in with us during our trip and offered help with communication in Georgian for example whenever we needed it. Overall, the convenience of having everything needed for camping included with the car was very nice, and this car allowed us to reach places that would have been impossible to reach with a regular car. If you like staying in nature and don\u2019t mind swapping a shower for a mountain river, this is for sure one of the best ways to see the country, I would absolutely do it again!<\/p><\/div><\/div> \n \n

Wir haben bei TEMO im Juni den Landcruiser gemietet.<\/p>\n

Nach 2 Tagen hatten wir einen Schadensfall, uns wurde innerhalb von wenigen Stunden ein anderes Fahrzeug geliefert. Ein super Service. Unsere Reise umfasste insgesamt 1800 km. Wir hatten das Dachzelt mit gebucht, haben es aber wenig genutzt aufgrund das die \u00dcbernachtungen kurzfristig \u00fcber Airbnb zu buchen gehen. G\u00fcnstig sind diese auch noch.. Unser Highlight Abano Pass und Omalo. Ein Traum.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ich kann TEMO und sein Team eine absolute Empfehlung aussprechen..<\/p>\n

We have been traveling trough the land with 3 Kids for one Month. After 2 Weeks of Matschrutka and Taxi we ve been searching spontainiusly for a car to go the vashlovani nationalpark. We found Temo on this webside and get the best car, we ve ever had, driving though the land f\u00fcr at least 10 days, because it was very comfortable with the kids.<\/span><\/p>\n

Staying were ever we want and beeing more flexible was great.<\/p>\n

The contact with Temo was very very friendly, uncomplicate, familyfriendly, nice. and a lot more. I dont know if nothing bad to say it was just perfect. everything<\/p>\n

We hired the Toyota Sequoia 4×4 for 3 weeks. Great car, good price. Perfect for driving in the mountains.<\/p>\n
